Tugay
TUGAY
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
Tugay to hang up his boots
He came to Ewood from Rangers in 2001 when Greame Souness was the Rovers manager. With his flowing hair and enormous personality - the former Turkish International has been a massive hit with the fans. Now Blackburn have revealed that he'll be leaving the club at the end of the season. Talking on the Rovers website - manager Sam Allardyce says:-
"Tugay's had a fantastic career, not just here, but throughout his playing days. However, at 38 years of age and with the ever-increasing demands, particularly physically, of the Premier League, things eventually catch up with you.
You can't go on forever and Tugay has had a magnificent time and a magnificent run - playing at the top for most of his career. It has drawn to a very good end, certainly if we stay in the Premier League, and he has made a big contribution to helping us."
The former Galatasaray star, who won 94 caps for Turkey, and cost Rovers £1.3m when he came down from Scotland in 2001. It will all add to the emotion of the last day of the season when Rovers are at home to West Brom and hope to look forward to another season in the top flight. (May 1st 2009)

David Dunn
DAVID DUNN
SEASON ALL DUNN FOR DAVID
Achilles operation brought forward
Rovers have confirmed that David Dunn will play no further part in this season's games after an operation on his achilles was brought forward, and took place yesterday (Thursday 30th April). He's been playing with injections, and the clubs official website quotes Big Sam as saying that "It wasn't the same achilles as last time ... it's the other leg ... obviously it's now about getting him 100% fit to start next pre-season"
The manager also admits that he thinks it unlikely that Roque Santa Cruz will be fit for the final four games - but he's hopeful that Jason Roberts can play a part (May 1st 2009)
