Vratislav Gresko -  first goal this season Another home win - this time it's Spurs!
Paul Gallagher made his first start at Ewood but it was defender Vratislav Gresko who claimed the one goal winner in a hard fought 1-0 against Tottenham. It might not have been the worlds greatest game - but the three points were what mattered on a day that all the other teams lower down the table also secured important victories It also marked Rovers FIRST clean sheet this season! Adrian Ilie (c) BBCi Rovers say no to Ilie ..
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness has shelved plans to sign Romania striker Adrian Ilie. He'd been on trial at Rovers but Souness decided the 29-year-old lacks presence. "We won't be taking Adrian. He's a good player but he's too similar to the people we've already got," Souness told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. (27th Nov 03)

Matt Derbyshire (c) BRFC Another Matt in the camp ...
And this ones a true local lad! Rovers website confirms the signing of the 17 year old striker Matt Derbyshire from Great Harwood Town. Matt went to the same school as Paul Gallgher. Rovers have now also agreed to play a pre-season friendly at the showground next year. (27th Nov 03)

SKY Sports Another SKY game..
Rovers have announced that their home game with Chelsea has been moved from Saturday January 31st to Sunday 1st February 2004.

Adian Ilie Welcome Adrian - Romanian Striker on trial
Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that Adrian Ilie is on trail this week at Ewood Park. The 29 year old International is currently out of contract. BBCi Sport say that Manager Graeme Souness is considering a for the player (25th Nov 03)

Brett Emerton - goal scorer Manchester United 2 - Blackburn Rovers 1 - BUT It could have been 2-2 .. Brett Emerton found the target for Rovers - however Dwight Yorke had his goal ruled off side. A true game of two halves at Old Trafford with the first half giving Blackburn teretorial advantage - but goals from Ruud van Nistelrooy and Kleberson saw the reds two up at the break. Paul Gallagher came on for Matt Jansen, and Nils Eric Johansson for Steve Reid - and the second half was a differant story. Some great football from Rovers - sadly no points. (22nd Nov 03)

David Thompson David Thomspon could be out for the rest of the season - reports BBC Radio Lancashire .... The 26-year-old is currently recovering in the US after undergoing knee surgery at the Steadman Clinic in Colorado. BBCi Sport quotes John Williams as telling the station that David may come back and play some games towards the end of the season. (20th Nov 2003)

Steven Reid Steve Reid included in Republic of Ireland Rep. of Ireland team that beat Canada 3-0 at Lansdown Road

A wonder goal by Damien Duff and two Robbie Keane strikes earned the Republic of Ireland a somewhat flattering success over Canada at Lansdowne Road. Damien Duff scored a stunning individual goal for the Irish Duff's first half solo effort was by far the highlight of a largely lacklustre contest. (18th Nov 03)

SKY Sports Another game on SKY
SKY Pay Per View have chosen Rovers away fixture at Newcastle as a TV game. It will be Blackburn's 8th 'live' game this season not including coverage on other channels. (15th Nov 03)
David Thompson Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Thompson is to seek the advice of the world's top knee specialist in a bid to cure his persistent knee injury. Thompson will now fly to America to see the famous Dr Richard Steadman - who helped the likes of Alan Shearer and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Ewood Park chief executive John Williams says that Thompson has been struggling of late and hopes the problem can be sorted out by Dr Steadman. "David is having a difficult time. The swelling is there after games and it's disappointing for everyone concerned," he said. (Nov 15th 03)

Lorenzo Amoruso Lorenzo Amoruso has cited injury as the reason why both he and Barry Ferguson have made poor starts for Blackburn. The former Glasgow Rangers duo have come in for heavy criticism since moving from Scotland in the summer. "Just before the first game of the season, I had a strange injury and the knee kept going all the time," said Amoruso. (13th Nov 03)

Rover beat Everton at Ewood At Last!!!
Rover win 2-1 at home to Everton and out of the drop zone!

Blackburn moved out of the bottom three with a hard-fought victory over Everton at Ewood Park. Early goals from Markus Babbel and Dwight Yorke got them off to a flying start. Graeme Souness says he's "Mighty Relieved" particullaly with tyhe first half display. (10th Nov 03)

Peter Enckelman (c) BBCi Rovers bring in Enckelman. Aston Villa goalkeeper Peter Enckelman has been allowed to join Blackburn on a month's loan deal. The Premier League gave Rovers special dispensation to bring in Enckelman outside the transfer window after the club was hit by a glut of injuries. (7th nov 03)

"I've never experienced anything like this in 35 years, This is a new experience for me, and I'm finding a lot out about myself as we go through this bad patch.
"We've all got to pull together and work at turning things around together, and the spirit in the dressing room is the big thing that encourages me to believe we can do that.
