Radio Blackburn

BBC Radio Blackburn went on air at 12.00 noon on January 26th 1971
The station was opened by the late Tom Naisby, who had been the
voice of the old BBC North Region (in Manchester)
but was also a Blackburn man - and a Rovers supporter!

The Manager (the late) John Musgrave came
to Radio Blackburn from the old Home Service, where he had a remarkable
track record for quality broadcasting over many years as a senior producer.

Choose here from the opening Jingle, Opening announcement and a three minute
video combining my own 8mm film and archive recordings from the first ten years.
